Leaves

I love leaves. When I was really little I got fussy a few times and mommy couldn't calm me down. She took me outside and I looked at the leaves on the trees and I was happy. Daddy said at that point that I was going to like being outside. Well it hasn't stopped! I am enjoying the fall leaves that are all soon to fall, leaving us with just evergreens. Mommy is a bit worried and asked me what are we going to do without leaves on the trees. This winter will be my first experience not having rustling leaves to listen to and look at. I think that when my first birthday rolls around the leaves will become like a new experience again!
I was a hot dog for Halloween and quite enjoyed the warm costume on the "chili" (ha, ha) night. Nanny was here and I really enjoyed getting some time with her. She is so much fun!

Give Me Paper!

I am becoming demanding about my new favorite food group - paper. Daddy & Mommy are trying to keep it out of my hands, but I am grabbing every piece I can and sticking it in my mouth where it belongs. Mommy says that the love of paper is deep rooted as Granna's side of the family grows pine trees and those trees are turned into paper. And Pappaw's daddy moved from Virginia to Florida along with a few of his siblings to work at a paper mill. The crinkling and tastiness of paper just can't be beat. Too bad I can choke on it.

6 Month Checkup

Well I had to go to the doctor this morning and get myself checked out. I first had my finger pricked in the lab to test my blood. There were cool bloody Halloween decorations in the lab. I got a band aid on my finger and then went to the examination room. I promptly attempted to decorate that room just like the lab but this time with REAL blood. I got some on the walls and mommy freaked out. I am still attempting to bite off the second band aid as I type. I got weighed and tried to make sure my legs and feet didn't get measured because what girl really wants her whole body weighed? I turned out to be 17 pounds and 7 ounces which isn't too bad. I measured 27.5 inches long which is over the 95% line on the growth chart. I am trying my best to be a supermodel, so the length is a good thing. And my head is finally catching up with the rest of my body and the doctor said my brains were growing. I believe she's correct. I got a couple of shots and go back in 2 weeks and a month for more. Why do they like these shot things? Oh just got that band aid off.

On the food front, I was able to sample something described as a roll this past weekend. I quickly turned what they call a roll into something they call crumbs. I had a great time and am currently on a baby food strike. That mushy stuff is doing nothing for me anymore. I want the real stuff. I did enjoy the fresh pumpkin mommy cooked for me on Sunday.

Raspberrries

I just made my first raspberry today at Gymboree. I was so sad that Ms Deb is leaving her position at Gymboree for a full time job. So I just had to tell everyone what I thought of that!

Feeding Myself

I am taking a moment to blog while I eat! Yes did you hear that, I am learning to self feed. Mommy pulled out the tray to my highchair and stuck some Gerber Sweet Potato Puffs on it. I am attempting to place them into my mouth. So far I've had one go in and the rest I get in my hand and lose on the way to my mouth. Mommy is helping to make sure I feel successful by placing a few in my mouth. This learning to eat thing is hard work! Did I mention also that I'm sharing the puffs with my big brother?

I Started Gymboree Today

I started my first Gymboree class today with Ms. Deb. Ms. Deb was Cooper's favorite teacher for 2.5 years, so I'm excited to be in her class. I was the youngest girl in class today but I kept up with them. I enjoyed the class and was very tired at the end.

Great Grandma Speed is Here

Grandma has been holding me and loving on me a lot since she's here for two weeks. I asked mommy to post a picture of Grandma sleeping while she holding me during a nap.

We had a great time at the lake. Foster and I screamed at each other a lot. Mommy had some walkers to take to Aunt Amy for Foster, so we walked around the house playing bumper walkers. Foster is my buddy though and we hugged a lot. I also got to swim in a lake.
